Nap...what nap?

Oh the joys and trials of motherhood! Chandani has recently decided to boycott her naps :( She used to nap three times a day anywhere from 40 minutes to an hour and a half each nap. However, now I'm lucky if we get two naps in and they're either super short naps in the crib or super long ones in the swing. My dad always says...."the only constant thing about babies is change." Boy is he right ! Any advice or mommy stories are always appreciated :)

  1. Try waiting 10-15 minutes to see if she will go back to sleep (there may be some crying). Some babies have a hard time with sleep transitions and wake up easily during naps (from active to restful and back; normally about 30-45 min. into the nap. Is that when she's waking up?). Annabelle has ALWAYS been this way, but almost without fail she will go back to sleep. Especially if Chandani wakes up crying, then chances are good that she has not had a long enough nap.

I wouldn't worry about the 2 naps thing; every baby is different and she may be ready to go down to just 2. But remember, if there are only 2, they need to be good ones!

That's my advice, take from it what suits you! =)

  2. I definitely have to agree with your Daddy-o. Chandani will figure it out sooner or later. I'd say three naps is definitely still a pretty good number for her, especially if they are that short! Babies need SLEEP!! You know me--I'm the baby-follower. So, I've always let Brooklyn tell me when she needs a nap, and there are always a couple of days (or weeks) during any transition (sleep change, eating change, teething, growth spurt, etc.) when things are a little out-of-whack. But Ms. Chandani will tell you what she needs and when she needs it; she'll figure out that long naps are the BEST naps!! :)
